Wold’s cottage was built around 1870 eventually being purchased by the current owners in 2015. It seemed a good idea at the time!!!! The cottage was purchased in a dilapidated state with much work to be done in the proposed renovation programme.
The 2 couples involved, Mike & Sarah, Paul & Angie decided it would be a great idea to renovate the property to a high standard, then let it as a holiday cottage. Pocklington is becoming very popular with tourists, walkers and cyclists, hoping it would become a great addition to the tourist trade of the town.
Work was started in April 2016 with an estimated period of 6 months to completion, it quickly became a chop and change project, adding new ideas to the original plans. This extended the renovation work to 12 months, doubling the allotted time schedule. Once finished and decorated it became a blank canvas ready for furnishing.
Wold’s Cottage was furnished and finally ready to be let from the 1st June 2017, greeting our first guests on the 2nd June 2017. Sigh of relief from us all, it went according to plan.
June has been a very busy month for the cottage and its new owners, meeting new guests, getting feedback and finally realising our endeavours will pay off. Guests seem to love our cottage. See our reviews page, this will grow with time.
